Lemon Paintbrush (Castilleja purpurea)

Lemon Paintbrush is very similar     to  the reddish-orange variety. It is also called Citron Paintbrush or Lemon Painted Cup. It is a member of the Figwort family, feeding off other plant roots. This one is blooming now in April and will continue on into May.  I love its bright sunny yellow color
The genus name "Castilleja" honors its founder, Juan Domingo Castillejo, a Spanish botanist from
the 18th century.

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing under the sun."
