We found this tiny wild fern growing out of a rock on a creek bank. While most of the other ferns were suffering from the intense heat, this little one was thriving.Lichens, mosses and other small plants were growing on this huge rock as well.
The larger fern is called Woodsia, below is a tiny fern appearing to grow out of the rock and it is Venus'-Hair Fern. The long lush moss is named Fern Moss. Click on the picture for a better look!
