Mealy Blue Sage

Member of Mint family
Blooms: April - October
This plant is such a beautiful color and easy to see as you drive along. I found these on a back dirt road growing all along the ditches.
Mealy Blue Sages love dry or moist soils and some sun as well. They grow up to about 4 feet tall and are sprawling with a spike of flowers reach from 3 to 9 inches long. They produce large amounts of nectar, which attracts the butterflies and hummingbirds. These are mostly found in fall. They are classified as a perennial and they have a sage fragrance. They are highly resistant to deer.
Other names are Mealy Sage and Mealy Cup Sage. I love the beautiful color. Seems all the flowers are more colorful in fall.
"But woe unto you, Pharisees! For ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs and pass over judgement and the love of GOD: these ought ye to have done, and not leave the other undone."
Luke 11:41
