Rosepink

Member of Gentain Family
Blooms: July - September
Isn't this a dainty little thing. These are so delicate and beautiful. I found these growing along a dirt road on a ditch.
Rosepinks grow in open areas, ditches and along woodlines. They like moist soils and will take part shade.
They are an annual herbaceous plant.
Their beautiful star-like flowers are about 1" across and always have 5 petals. The plants grow up to 2 ft. tall and each flower is on a single stem. They are often found growing in colonies. Click on the picture and see just how delicate this little flower is ---SO pretty!

And GOD made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: HE made the stars also.
Genesis 1:16
