My First Rose of Spring

This is one of the Knockout Roses. It's name is "Home Run". I took this picture early this morning as I left for work and it wasn't fully open, but I couldn't wait!!!
Knockouts are drought resistant, take full sun and are resistant to insects and disease, unlike other common roses. They are very hardy and take very little care. You don't even have to dead-head them (cut off shedded blooms), but I do, it keeps them looking neat and they will bloom more.
They have new colors coming out now, and even some double roses. There is a yellow and white available now, but you really have to watch for them, because they don't last long in nurseries.
