Drummond's Phlox

This plant grows in deep sandy soils and is found along roadsides, pastures, woodland openings.
There are several species of Phlox, some are multi-colored white, pinks, purples and dark reds. This particular one is a scarlett red.
Drummond's Phlox was named after a Scottish Botanist who studies and collected wildflowers in North America from 1790 - 1835. There are 5 species of red phlox in Texas, This is the most vibrant in color.
