Carolina Horse-Nettle

Member of Nightshade Family
Blooms: April - October
This plant bloomed earlier in the year. It loves sandy soils and full sun. As fall draws near, it begins to bloom again in large colonies. Now the roadsides are covered with it. It's blooms range from white to pale lavender.
It has large clusters of small, tomatolike fruits that become orange-yellow when ripe and are quite showy. Once this plant is established, it can become difficult to get rid of. It is native to the Southern states. It also has lots of tiny stickers on it's stems.
