Zebra Swallowtail Butterfly
Butterflies are here feasting on all the beautiful wildflowers. This one is a member of the Kite family. There are 140 species of Kites, this one "Zebra Swallowtail" is the only one found in North America. They get their name from their long tails. So pretty!!! So glad this one decided to come into my garden. They prefer wooded areas near rivers and swamps. Their larvae host off Pawpaw plants. Some of their favorite flowers are Lantana, water-willow, Dogbanes and Blackberry.
"Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."
Luke 13:24 KJV
