Prairie Parsley (Polytaenia nuttallii)

This plant blooms from March through June and is a member of the Parsley family. It is often referred to as Wild Dill, seeds and foliage can be used much like dill. It grows in full sun and is found in pastures, open wooded areas and along highways. Other members of this family are caraway, carrot, celery and parsley and rue.

This plant named in honor of English botanist Thomas Nuttall (1786 -1859) who studied plants in North America.

"The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered."
Proverbs 27:25
