Texas Toadflax (Nuttallanthus texanus)



The sweet Toadflax is a member of the Figwort family and is blooming now through May.  They grow to about 2 feet and are found in colonies. Have a wonderful sweet fragrance!! They are found in all zones of Texas in almost any type of soil. The larvae of the Buckeye Butterfly feed on these plants. Plant discovered and named for British botanish Thomas Nuttall who studied plants in North America in late 1700s and early 1800s.
