Stemless Evening Primrose ( Oenothera triloba)

This beauty is very similar to the pink Evening Primrose and belongs to the Primrose family  (Onagraceae.
Bloom time usually from late February through July. This plant is a winter annual which grows to about 8".
The stems are very short appearing to be nonexistant. The beautiful flower opens at sunset and will close up around noon the next day. They have 4 petals and the stamens have a large amount of pollen. When the flower dries up, it leaves a seed pod which resembles a pine cone.

Very pretty, Thanks Merry for the picture, we don't have these in northeast Texas, I'm glad you shared the picture for all to enjoy.

"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope. The steadfast love of the LORD never come to an end, they are new every morning; great is YOUR faithfulness."
Lamentations 3:21-23
