White-Lined Sphinx Moth

This is one of the most common sphinx moths found in the South. They come out very late in the evening and in night to search for rich nectar. The abdomen has series of alternating black and white spots along each side. It can also be identified by the pink strip across the hindwing. They move so fast it is almost impossible to get a clear picture of them.

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:"
Matthew 6:19  KJV
