Two-Leaved Senna (Senna roemeriana)

This sunny yellow flower is a member of the bean family and blooms from April through September.  It is drought tolerant and will take full sun, growing along woodlines, hillsides, grasslands and slopes.

It can be easily grown in your garden by planting seeds in fall. The flower buds and tender leaves are a source of larval food for the yellow Cloudless Sulphur Butterfly. Sennas also have many medicinal uses.

Two-Leaved Senna gets its name from  a German naturalist who studied and collected specimens in the New Braunsfel area. (Karl Ferdinand Roemer 1818 - 1891).

"By HIS knowledge the depths are broke up, and the clouds drop down the dew."
Proverbs 3:20
