Zebra Swallowtail
Zebra Swallowtails are members of the Kite family of butterflies. There are 140 species but this is the only one found in North America. They like to stay near rivers and streams; anywhere there is plenty of water. Zebras can have a wingspan up to 4" and have long tails that flutter behind them. This one has a few miles on him as one tail is broken off but it is still beautiful.
They lay their eggs on Pawpaw plants and prefer flowers such as lantana, dogbanes and blackberry.
Very beautiful and very graceful.
"The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my GOD, my strength in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation and my high tower."
Psalm 18:2 KJV
