Coreopsis (Coreopsis grandiflora)

This is one of my favorite wildflowers. The roadsides will be covered with these beautiful golden yellow flowers. They are often called Golden Wave as they sway in the spring winds as a golden wave of color.  They are a member of the Aster family and begin blooming in late April and on through July. Coreopsis are called heliotrophic meaning their faces follow the sun.

These will do well in gardens whether planted from seeds or by transplanting small plants before they begin to bud.

"HIS name shall endure for ever. HIS name shall be continued as long as the sun and men shall be blessed in HIM: all nations shall call HIM blessed."
Psalm 72:17 KJV
