Spatterdock


Member of Water-Lily family
Blooms: March through October
This is an aquatic floating plant. Its blooms never open up completely and are always bright yellow. It is approximately 2" across and its leaves are about 12" across.
Roots of the Spatterdock grow deep into the mud and it very aggressive, often causing drainage problems of lakes and streams because of its thick root system.
The common names of this plant are Yellow Pond Lily and Cow Lily.
