I have been trying to capture a picture of this one for a long time. They are so quick and never sit still but for a second or two.
Today I went into my garden, with camera in hand, of course, and there he was fluttering all around me. He perched near me and sat patiently as I got a good shot of him.
The male of this species has the distinctive white tail and banded wings. The female has a dark brown body and has the black banded wings as well. Why is the male always the prettiest??
