Plumbago

Member of Plumbaginacceae Family
Blooms: early summer until frost
If you are looking for a plant that loves the heat, long humid summer days and drought, this is what you are looking for. This is in my garden, my first one to have. It is beautiful and the butterflies love it.
It does not have diseases and insects do not bother it. Deer and other varmints do not feed on it either.
It is also called Skyflower, because of it's beautiful sky-blue color. They can grow 3-4 ft tall. It is a native of South Africa. The name Plumbago is from "plumbum" meaning lead---referrering to it being a supposed cure for lead poisoning.
