Blooms: March - May
These tiny white violets were found growing along a creek bank. They grow in very moist places, bogs, marshes and along the edges of creeks, mostly in very shady places.
Although this one is very small, it is the largest flowered violet of our native white flowered species. The broad lower petals of almost all violets offer a convenient landing place for insects seeking nectar.
