Winter Vetch Vines

Member of Legume Family
Blooms: April - August
This vine grows in various soils in edges of fields and especially along roadsides.
Winter Vetch is a European plant which was widely used in this country as a cover crop and soil builder before the development of inexpensive fertilizers. It is still occasionally used as a high-protein component in winter pastures. This plant often spreads onto the roadsides and nearby fields or pastures and forms large, thick, solid masses, the stems covering all nearby vegetation. Click on picture to see such beautifu tiny flowers on each stem.
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch of mine that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit."
John 15:1

Great pictures. Titus says he wants to see more of that toadplant. Got any frog pictures?
