Member of Sage Family
Blooms: April - late fall
This is an ornamental sage and one of my favorites. I love the deep purple color. It is not a wildflower but grows well in Texas and is easlily started in gardens. It will return in Spring.
Butterflies and bees are attracted to it for it's sweet nectar.
There are many Sages, mostly ornamental, not herbs. There are reds, pinks and blue to purple. It really adds to your garden.
