Lady Ferns

Member of Asplenium Fern Family
Comes up early spring and stays until cold weather.
This fern grows in shady areas long woodlines and creek banks. It is very delicate in detail. It's fronds can reach 1 - 4 ft. high.
My fern information comes from a book that belonged to my Grandfather. It is called: 'Who's Who Among the Wildflowers, Ferns and Medicinal Plants. It was published in 1917. He and my Mother and her siblings would go into the woods and gather Ginseng and other barks and roots to sell. There was good money back in those days gathering herbs and wild things to be used for medicines. I guess that's where I get my passion for wild things.
