Here it is the middle of January and some wildflowers are already making an appearance.
This is the tiny wood violet. Its dark green leaves are flat and very close to the ground and are dark purple underneath. The blooms are very tiny and delicate.
The seed pod has just opened and some are already blooming ----strange. But then, its Texas, one day it might be 70 degrees and 30 the next!!!
I have even found Henbit that is beginning to bloom, hopefully a sign of an early spring!

What a strange winter. Here in the North Country 50 degree weather when it should be sub zero. No wildflowers yet though... :)
