Shining Sumac

Member of Sumac Family
Blooms: Spring-Fall
This plant is very common in North East Texas. In spring it has white flowers which turn into these red berries. In fall, the dark green leaves turn to a scarlet red and drop off very quickly, leaving only the seed pods. They are a major food source for birds and other wildlife.
Common name is Flame-leaf Sumac.
