Sensitive Brier

This plant can be found in sandy soils, on prairies, openings in woodlands and woodland edges. It is very showy and colorful. It has a very sweet fragrance and is loved by bees.
Other common names are "Catclaw", in reference to it's stickers on stems, "Shameboy, refering to it's sensitive foliage, which closes when touched. Click for a closer look, it really is a beautiful plant.
