Swamp Sunflower (Helianthus angustifolius)

These are my favorite fall wildflower and they blooming in all their glory now.

They are usually found in full sun along roadsides in the ditches as they love very moist soils. Swamp Sunflowers can reach heights of 6-7 feet and are covered with their beautiful golden fall flowers. Notice how beautiful they are against the deep blue fall sky. As other members of this family, the faces of the flowers tend to follow the sun.

The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to HIS place where HE arose.
