Violet Ruellia

The Violet Ruellia is a member of the Acanthus family and blooms from April through October.

These are also called Wild Petunias and grow in sandy soils often in edges of woodlands and thickets. They grow about 12" tall and their five petal flowers are about 2" across. They are always a light lavender color and are very showy.

In early spring these plants produce smaller flowers and in summer begin to bloom again. Both stages of blooms produce seed. They appear year after year.

"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of GOD."

John 3:3
