Agastache

This is a new one on me, but I had to have it in my wildflower garden. It is indeed a wildflower and mostly grows in Central America, but has adapted to Texas.
It is very heat and drought tolerant and has very fine leaves and clear apricot colored blooms that are about 2" long. This one is called Apricot Sunrise. They come in other colors of dark reds and rose colors.

Agastaches begin blooming in summer and flower until frost. They are loved by hummingbirds for their sweet nectar. Another name for this one is Licorice Plant. When its leaves are touched it has a very strong aroma, somewhat like licorice.
