Tiny White Puffball Mushrooms


After rains a few days ago, mushrooms of all types began to pop up. These were smaller than a golf ball and snow white. They are different from others I have found as they are prickley looking. They resemble little sea urchins. As they mature, they will burst open to release their snuff looking spores into the air. They are a major source of allergies in fall.

these look like ornaments for the Christmas tree! I guess the allergy thing would be a problem though...
