Milfoil

Member of Aster Family
Blooms: April - June
Sporadically in Fall.

This is a very beautiful plant. It's leaves are so fine and lacey, fern-like.
It grows in large clumps along roadsides, woodlines and undistrubed areas.

Native American used a tea from the leaves of this plant for fever and restful sleep. Many other medicines are made from Milfoil, blood coagulants and local anesthetic. A common name is "Yarrow". Indians used it for coughs and dressing for wounds. It is also a favorite of the Black Swallowtail Butterfly, which lay their eggs on it's leaves and the larvae feed on them.
"And when JESUS was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
And HE touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she rose and ministered unto them."
Matthew 8:14-15
