White Dandelion

Member of Sunflower Family
Blooms: March - May
This is my first time to find this one.
Lots of different yellow ones, but never a white one. It's petals being white and as you can see, pale pink to purple underneath. It is quite showy and so pretty.
They grow in gravelly or clay soils in open areas on hillsides, gravel banks and edges of woodlands and thickets.
White Dandelion is quite similar in flower shape to the yellow dandelion. Like the true dandelions, the flowers close quickly after being picked. Other common names include Pink Dandelion and Rock Lettuce. Click on the picture and see how dainty it is---------soooo pretty. (I love the one opening with all the hues of purple).
