ICE STALAGMITE

This wierd "thing" was in my birdbath this cold morning. Isn't it strange looking? How did it freeze upwards and make such a strange shape?
Click on picture and see the detail of the ice. Thanks to my son-in-law, the engineer, he researched and found it is called an ice stalagmite.
Thanks David----glad you liked the picture.
"He casteth forth HIS ice like morsels: who can stand before HIS cold: HE sendeth out HIS word, and melteth them: HE causeth HIS wind to blow, and the water flow."
Psalm 147: 17-18
