This is one of the very first wildflowers to bloom in spring. It can be found almost everywhere.
It is a native of Europe, henbit has become estblished throughout North America. It is frequently a troublesome "weed" in lawns and cultivated fields. An early source of nectar, it is visited frequently by bees and other small insects.
It's common name is "Dead Nettle".
