The American Smoke Tree Blooms: April - May

This tree grows wild in North East Texas and is so unusual. It usually grows about 15 - 20 ft. tall and likes sun and part shade. I see them in yards pruned into nice rounded shapes, but they are really pretty scattered throughout the woods.

They are Deciduous, they shed their leaves in winter. They are said to be deer resistant. My Grandmother always called them "Grandfather's Greybeard" Tree. Be sure to click on picture and see details of the millions of flowers that make up this beautiful tree.
