Wild Strawberries

Blooms & Fruit: February - May
I found these tiny little wild strawberries in a bog near the edge of a lake. They have delicate little yellow blooms and berries about the side of a jellybean. They are little vines that intertwine among the leaves and other plants, growing very close to the ground. When found in large quantities, you can smell the strawberries. They are a good food source for wildlife. Click on picture for a better view.
