Tiny Wood Violet

Member of Violet Family
Blooms: March - April
This tiny little violet came up in my garden just on it's own, just cause it wanted to be there, I guess. Click on it see how pretty it is.
Wild violets love sandy, moist soils. They grow along creek banks and in deciduous woodlands. They like some shade. The fragrance of the violets temporarily make it impossible to smell them, so violets are often referred to as "elusive". Most violets do well in gardens. They are often found in large quantities. This little one just popped up all by itself.
