Luna Moth
The Luna is probably the most familiar and most spectacular moth. It has pale green wings and a long, curved tail on each hind-wing. There is also a small eyespot on each wing. Look for the Luna Moth in woodlands. The caterpillars feed mainly on hickory trees in the south and then go through a metamorphasis changing into this beautiful moth. They are often found around security lights. They are nocturnal. Click on picture to see how beautiful this one is.
