Golden Crownbeard

Member of Sunflower Family
Blooms: February - December
Crownbeards grow in sandy soils in prairies, abandoned fields, opening in woodlands and undisturbed areas. They grow throughout Texas except in the Panhandle.
The entire plant has a very unpleasant odor when crushed or touched. Indians and early settlers used some portion of the plant in treating boils, skin diseases, and spider bites. Another common name is "Cow Pen Daisy".
"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of GOD should taste death for every man."
Hebrews 2: 9
