"Beep-Beep"!!!!!

Roadrunner
Member of genus Geococcyx, or Cuckoo Family.
We were out one afternoon in the Mule searching for flowers and this guy came out in front of us. He went so fast we could not get a very good shot of him, know why "Wylie Coyote" was always so "frazzled" looking.
Roadrunners generally range from 18" to 24" from tail to beak. They are a large, slender, black-brown and white streaked ground bird with a distinctive head crest. It has long legs, strong feet and an oversized dark bill. The tail is broad with white tips on the three outer tail feathers. Roadrunners have zygodactyl
feet (two toes in front and two toes in back). They can run at speeds up to 15 miles per hour.
They make a dove-like "coo" that is slow and descending.
Roadrunners are omnivores. Their diet normally consist of insects such as grasshoppers, crickets, caterpillars and beetles, small reptiles such as lizards and snakes, including rattlesnakes. They also eat rodents and small mammals, scorpions, centipedes, spiders, small birds, eggs, nestlings and fruits and seeds. If you click on picture, maybe you can see him better, he was just too fast for us.
