Delphiniums grow in rocky, sandy soil. This one was growing out of the gravel next to the pavement on highway. Very beautiful flowers, ranging from pinks, lavender, blues and to deep purple, depending on the nutrients in the soil.

This plant will reseed itself each year and does well in gardens.
