Shaggy Portlulaca is a succulent plant making great for hot dry weather. It grows 6-8" tall and in the shape of little mounds. The beautiful fushia flowers are 1/2" across and all having 5 petals. Bloom time is May through December and is an annual, found in sandy gravely soils.
Other common names are Wild Moss Rose, Chisme and Rose Purslane.
I have not found this wildflower before now, it is such a beautiful color.
