Morning Glories

The Morning Glory is the flower for September, which is the month of my birthday, so it is one of my very favorites. To me they are a reminder of older and simpler times, of family and good times.

These have been in my Mother's family about seventy years. My cousin, Julia, sold packs of seeds in first grade and her mother, my Aunt, bought seeds of this one. Each year since, seeds have been planted and kept going. I give them to all my friends and relatives. When I see it, I think of my family who has gone on to be with the LORD. My Mother planted these every year and saved seeds to share. Now that she is 96 and gone into a nursing facility, it is my turn to keep them going. (Really a good family tradition to start). What a terrific way to start your day, sitting on back porch with a big mug of hot coffee and enjoying these beautiful flowers and remembering where they came from.

"It is the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because HIS compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

Lamentations 3:22-23  KJV
