The county road to our house is beautiful now with a wide variety of wildflowers. Every year about this time, the county and state highway department hire independent contractors to mow the roadsides and they always seem to do it before the flowers go to seed. This year my husband made signs and we put them up asking them not to mow. We will see if they honor our wishes. Such a waste to destroy all the beauty the CREATOR has given us to enjoy. Now we have Lazy Daisies, Coreopsis, Prairie Phlox, Sleepy Vine, Purple Coneflowers, Venus Looking Looking Glass, Deptford Pinks, Two Leaved Senna---- all in such a small area near our home.

I know what you mean - I love the wildflowers too, and you are right - right now they will come along and either mow or spray. I need to get some signs made!

Better get those signs up quickly, I awoke this morning to the sound of tractors and mowers up the road. We will see if they honor my request or mow my signs and flowers down. :(
