Yaupon Holly

This is a wild holley which grows in Texas in wooded areas and is very beautiful. Its bright red berries are a major food source for wildlife.

Holly has become a sign of CHRIST'S Passion. The prickley leaves suggest the crown of thorns and the red berries, the blood that JESUS shed for our sins. This beautiful plant is also used for decorating at Christmas to remind us of the "Reason for the Season".
