Spring Ladies Tresses

Member of Orchid Family
Blooms: April - July
This plant grows slender and upright and can reach about 3 ft, but usually a little shorter. It's flowers seem to be twisted around it's stem. It is found in almost every section of Texas. It is always white.
This is the most common species of Orchid for the state. and can be found along roadsides for miles. It grows more abundantly along the coastlines of Texas. It is very similar to the Nodding Ladies Tresses, it's flowers are more bell shaped and nodding. Very delicate and beautiful.
It's other common name is Twisted Ladies Tresses.
