Soft Green- Eyes

Member of Sunflower Family
Blooms: April - September
This plant really blooms a lot in early fall. It gets to about 2 ft. tall. It is found in sandy soils along woodland edges, ditches and open fields.
It gets it's name from the green center of each bloom.
This genus was named in honor of Jean Louis Berlandier, a French-Swiss physician who collectd plants in Texas and northern Mexico in the early 1800s.. Soft Green-Eyes looks like a small sunflower and does well in gardens. The flowers open continually throughout the growing season, but really comes "alive"with many blooms in early fall.
"Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy , your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light."
Luke 11:34-36
