Wild Onions

Took this today along the roadside. I don't remember ever seeing them so large and in such large quantities as they are this year, perhaps from all the rain we have had.
Wild onions are a close relative to False Garlic. The Onion bloom does not have a fragrance, but the blades and stems have a very strong smell of onion. If you click on picture you can see the beautiful tiny flowers.
They are often found in open areas and long roadsides. They are quite showy. This plant is not grazed by wildlife for obvious reasons.
