Blooms: April - September
A friend in Austin who follows my blog sent a picture yesterday asking what this little orange flower was. I told her I did not know, never seen it before, well......found it today growing alongside a dirt road in the ditch.
After some research on internet, found this as being the Scarlet Pimpernel. It is a low-growing, trailing ground cover. It's blooms are 1/4" in diameter and are orange to salmon in color. They have 5 petals . Please click for look at this one.
Scarlet is the color of the Holy Spirit: "For much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to GOD , purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living GOD?"
