The Great Bald Eagle
This picture was taken at the San Antonio Zoo. Isn't this guy handsome? Bald Eagles get their name "bald" from the English word piebald , meaning of two different colors: white head and dark brown body. They mostly live in coniferous or hardwood areas and near water as they love fish.
They nest very high up in the trees having good "look-out" for viewing preditors. Their numbers have drastically declined in past years as they have been killed off by poachers.
Here is North East Texas we have a private lake that has documentation of 12 birds nesting there. They are also our symbol of the United States of America.
"but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as Eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

This is one of my favorites. In fact, I gave Jeff an eagle sculpture for his birthday w/ this verse.
